Has anyone else had success uninstalling these apps remotely? I have tested several so far with no luck. One called "uninstallutility. But failed on these psky HP apps. I was able to finally get this resolved.
Logged in with domain admin account. I was able to repeat this, just changing the pcname through all needed machines. If its not installed via GPO as you are saying I think it would be quite easy to create an installing GPO, apply it and then remove it from the scope of management, I think it should work :.
I am not sure about these apps directly, however there are a couple of things you could do in general. There may be an "uninstallstring" in there. If you can find them, then you might use whatever remote connectivity method you have to initiate uninstall. Good suggestion. I looked in all the sub sections under the Hewlett-Packard hive and found no keys relating to uninstalling If you have powershell installed on that machine, you can try to locate it by running something like this:.
I had not seen that with Powershell before. But apparently there is no uninstall string for it as neither app showed up in the results. Hmm, is it a 64bit machine by any chance? In that case location of the reg key would be a bit different and you would want to check this key.
Just a bit a caution, If I remember correctly, there is a bug with that class and when you query it, it might go through reconfiguration of msi-installed packages. I use a piece of software called "ManagePC" which finds the uninstall strings so you can either uninstall silently or with user interaction.
My machine is a 64 bit, we only have a couple of them in the network. If I run the exe I get a program compatability assistant window opens.Check our tips and fixes! Sign out. Select registration option.

It's not letting me uninstall it, teling me to disable it first!! Here is a document I found. I always get a warning messager, mthat my organisation does not permit this.
I assume this is the firewall. Disabling the firewall for the private network leads to a message, HP sure Run has reestablished the fiorewall. I am working now for 3 hours on this task and I prefer to have Sur Run sent permanently to the moon.
I'm wonderig what happens to you if you disable HP Sure Run. Are you sure you will not get issue with you IT? They will get an alert that you disable Sure Run. If you want to procededespite of the warning I gave you, you should power-off the computer. In this case you can't do anything more. I am perfectly aware, what the risk is disabling the firewall and HP Sure Run. Resetting in the BIOS the security to the factory-standards the only helpfull option given was quite complicated, required reentering the code for Bitlocker, but finally permitted to disable the firewall.
Thanks to this procedure, I am still unable to map my NAS to a networkdrive, but I observe a new option to use an assistant to connect to a website or network-resource finally! Any other suggestions? HP Sure Click will not work properly on a machine that has one of the following patches installed:. OS version. Microsoft updated the way Windows manages memory to avoid the CPU design flaw. This change caused an incompatibility issue for HP Sure Click. The incompatibility renders HP Sure Click unusable but the exact symptoms vary as described in the following scenarios:.
The user will see a generic initialization error and the HP Sure Click Secure browser will not be usable.I installed ubuntu on my laptop a couple of weeks ago and it is running fine. The only problem is that HP sure start keeps asking me for power on authentication while I have my ubuntu account secured.
How can I turn off this extra power on authentication? Restart your operating system PC and as soon as it gives a sign it is about to start, begin hitting the ESC button repeatedly like tap-tap-tap.
Or if the restart does not work, press and hold the power-on button for seconds until the unit powers off, then start it normally. I went to said security tab, but I could not find an option to turn off a password, I attached some photos to show what my options are. Could you please post exact pictures of what you see and what you refer as a POST password?
Can you take pictures of what it prompts you for during start up? Looking forward to addition pictures, info. Yes, that's what I didn't understand, everything te seems to have anything to do with log in password looks disabled. This is what my computer asks me upon start up, right side up this time :.
When you select "Password" based on the latest picture above and then hit [ENTER], it should prompt you for a password.
Do you know it? Does it work when you enter it? Can you go into the "Security" tab on the bottom and try to hit the "Reset the Security settings to Factory Defaults". This should return security settings to default. If you go into the "Security" tab on the bottom and try to hit the option to actually create POST Power-On password, then actually set a blank password nothing as a password, just emply confirmationwould that clear the start-up password?
I tried both ideas, changing password and resetting to factory default. But both options don't respond except for lighting up indicating that it registered that I clicked on the option. But there is no reaction or change whatsoever. How did you enable the password initially?
Can you provide details about this. Well, let me be transparent - the screenshots you posted don't look promising as described above, intially. I am trying to understand what may be wrong and how you ended up with this so that I can help you fulfil your wish to remove it.
I use Linux distros including Ubuntu and I don't think its installation can control or setup Preboot authentication password like the one you showed above. Did you by any change set it up before Linux? In order to assist you or to direct you to the best solution I am trying to understand in details what you did and how you did it. Message 1 of This program is designed to protect a Windows computer from malware lurking on malicious websites or in common files.
Instead of trying to detect malware, untrusted websites and files are opened in their own isolated virtual containers known as virtual micromachines VMs. If malicious code is present, these micro-VMs cause the malware to believe that it is running on your computer even though it is actually trapped. HP Sure Click isolates critical applications in their own virtual containers — malware is trapped and deleted as soon as you close the application.
The articles here and here from describe the partnership between HP and Bromium, the developer of Sure Click. Blog reader Dekre send me also another link to this info page.
Basically, the above description for HP Sure Click reads like a very useful feature. Unfortunately the practice draws another image. For the first time I got in touch with the topic via Blog Reader Dekre. I wrote in June about an observation from Dekre. He run into issues with Internet Explorer favorites, and he supposed, an Adobe Acrobat update might be the root cause. In a commentDekre wrote:. HP ships various software preinstalled on these business devices, but the purpose of this software is unknown.
How to uninstall HP Sure Store 1?
My issues has been caused by a security programs from HP, here specifically HP Sure Click and the browser add-on of this program. I had always suspected the program. The respective add-on is still activated. If you have activated HP Sure Click correctly, you cannot choose within this program that it does not install an add-on in IE Dekre uninstalled the whole program and his issues was gone. So that was the first hint that there could be trouble with the tool.
I did some more research on this blog post. If you search a little on the web, you will come across some hits, where there are reports of trouble with HP Sure Click. In this article deleted in the Spiceworks Community from September a user writes about bigger issues. HP has this forum post and this forum thread on the topic. The document was first published in January and was last updated in September The message: Practically every update under Windows 10 leads to collateral damage with Sure Click.
HP meanwhile indicates the following updates as problematic. As a result of these updates, an error message appears in various scenarios stating that HP Sure Click has not been initialized. HP has provided an updated version of Sure Click on the site. Then you have to wait for an update of the software and install it.
